Could Frank return in Outlander series 4 ?

Despite his death, Frank remains an important character in Outlander Season 4. After all, he played a huge role in Brianna’s upbringing, and there are going to be comparisons she’ll make between him and her biological father. It’s just human to make comparisons.

Outlander news from Outlander tours  , private tours of Outlander film locations in Scotland .

Since the closing of Season 3, the showrunners have been clear that they would like to bring Tobias Menzies back into the series. How is that possible when both his characters are dead? And yes, Black Jack Randall certainly died at Culloden as Claire told him. Now the showrunners have said that Frank will hopefully come back into the series.

Blackness castle Outlander

Jack Randall was in command of the garrison at Fort William ( Blackness Castle ) for four years.

In 1740, Jamie Fraser is arrested at Lallybroch while trying to defend Jenny, taken to Fort William and brutally flogged by Jack Randall.

It’s all about the flashbacks

Outlander Season 4 could always use flashbacks for Brianna. She’ll still have stories to tell Roger and she’ll continue to watch out for her mother by reading the historical documents to track them. After all, she’ll want to know where her mother is and when she dies.

As she’s going through the documents, Brianna could find something her dad knew or mentioned. She could find paperwork that belonged to him. This would allow her to delve more into stories about him, using flashbacks to tell the stories for the audience.

While we’ve seen some of the scenes from Claire and Frank’s points of view, is it possible that Brianna actually heard some of the arguments? Could she have watched them and those are moments that stand out for her? The flashbacks could be of her side of those arguments.

Filling in the gaps

There are still elements to the story that Outlander hasn’t told yet. Frank wouldn’t have been able to just forget about Jamie. Brianna’s red hair would have prevented that. He had to know done his research, known where he was and what had happened to him. He may have even learned that Claire would eventually go back to the past.

In fact, is it possible that when Frank wanted to take Brianna to England it was to allow Claire to journey back to the past? Did he want to give her the chance to make the decision she wished she could have made years ago?

Outlander Season 4 could fill in some of the gaps, using flashes of Frank to make it easier on the audience.

Would you like to see Frank return to Outlander? What do you think of the idea of bringing Tobias Menzies back? How could you see it working? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Outlander series five confirmed

Before Sunday’s For Your Consideration: Outlander panel in Los Angeles, Ronald D. Moore said while the “usual negotiations and conversations” have been holding up a more official announcement from Starz, “we are certainly going to do it. I have no doubt we are doing a season 5.”

Outlander news from Outlander tours

Moore, who joined stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan as well as executive producers Maril Davis, Matt B. Roberts, Toni Graphia, and Production Designer Jon Gary Steele for the Sunday panel, also hinted at the possibility that the writers might change up how they adapt Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling books for future seasons.

“Every year we approach it fresh,” he told EW. “Should we keep it a book a season? We’ve done that up until now. But we’ve talked about splitting books, and we’ve talked about combining them. We want to be free in the writers’ room to pick and choose and do what feels most comfortable that year.”

And what about Moore’s future involvement on the show? The executive producer of Amazon’s new Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams says he continues to read all scripts and give notes on them, and is involved in editing. That said, “At the beginning of season 3, I delegated the day to day show-running duties to Matt [B. Roberts] and Toni [Graphia].”

Production on the fourth season of Outlander is currently underway in Scotland.

Outlander tourism boom in Scotland continues

We all know that Outlander has boosted the tourism in Scotland. More and more people book holidays to see the filming spots. While this has caused problems due to the few, Scotland is definitely not complaining about the benefits to the country because of the Outlander tours. Individuals have also found ways to boost their family income and do a job they love, such as Andy the Highlander.

It’s not just about tourism. There’s an employment boom happening thanks to the time-traveling love story. More people are moving to the Scottish Highlands to live and work.

The Insider states that there’s a new Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund, which is in place for two years and will start in the next financial year (the tax year in the UK runs April 6-April 5 each year). More than 200,000 jobs have been created thanks to the tourism boom, which is excellent for those in Scotland. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has hinted that the new fund is due to the Outlander tourism, so people need to keep it up to continue supporting the people.

It’s not surprising, as the series continues to film around Scotland. Despite Season 4 largely being based in the American Colonies of the 18th century, the crew remains in Scotland for filming. The Highlands give a look of the American Colonies, and it also means sights like Craig na Dun and Lallybroch are still in reaching distance for the Scottish storylines.

Just recently, filming has taken place in Falkland, Cumbernauld Glen, and Culross. The filming is most recently been in Dunure.

Another quoted Mhairi’s speech, adding: “And when it becomes normalized, it creates an environment that allows women to be abused. Thanks for sharing this.”

During her speech, Mhairi said: “I could soften some of this by talking about the c-word but the reality is there is no softening when you’re targeted with these words and you’re left reading them on my screen every day, day in, day out.

Sophie Skelton, who plays Brianna Randall, was recently spotted on the Outlander set in Dunure, Scotland. Not really out of the ordinary—except she was in period costume!

This means, at some point in Season 4, Brianna travels through the stones back to the 18th century. And who’s in the 18th century? Her parents, Jamie (Heughan) and Claire (Balfe)!

A Randall-Fraser family reunion in looking very possible. Of course, if you’ve read the books, this piece of information comes at no surprise.

It’s getting Scot in here.

Also spotted in the photos is Steven Cree, who plays Ian Murray Sr.. In other words, the setting is likely Scotland instead of America, as his character owns and runs the Fraser estate Lallybroch.

According to Lisa Parsyn Casting, the series producers are looking for 70 young Indigenous actors, 10 older Indigenous actors, 25 Indigenous women and 10 to 15 Indigenous children ages 7 and up.

No experience is required, but all interested applicants must have a valid Canadian passport along with a Status Card, according to the casting call.

Casting will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at the Clarion Hotel in Greater Sudbury (117 Elm St.).

The show, which has received multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Awards nominations, follows the story of Claire Randall, a British combat nurse who in 1946, while on a honeymoon with her husband, Frank, in Scotland, is mysteriously transported back into 1743.

There she meets her husband’s sadistic 18th century ancestor and doppelganger, Capt. Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall, and is forced to join a band of Scottish Highlanders to escape his unwanted attention.

With her life hanging in the balance, Claire is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous Highlander and an outlaw. But in Jamie she also finds the love of her life at same time as she schemes to return to her own time and to her 20th century husband, Frank.

In the second season Claire and Jamie plot to sabotage a doomed Jacobite rebellion that is certain to kill everyone they hold dear. But their plan fails and Jamie convinces pregnant Claire to travel back to her time, while he joins the disastrous Battle of Culloden and is believed by Claire to have been killed there.

In the third season, Claire and Jamie are reunited, when she travels back to the 18th century after finding out that Jamie did indeed survive the Battle of Culloden.

In the fourth season, Claire and Jamie journey into North Carolina.
